This year of display in the St Andrews Church Flower Festival was called RE-Creation.We arranged our displays in empty bottles and jars and coloured in pictures if the life cycle of butterflies, frogs and lady birds to add to our display.
We had great fun at Guides on the Thursday evening arranging our flowers which we brought along (mainly out of our gardens).

We then spend time finishing of our costumes for the Feast Parade on Sunday.
This year again we were unable to get a vehicle with the appropriate insurance cover to carry the girls so we chose once again to walk in the parade.
Our theme was re-cycled and the girls made their fantastic costumes from old carrier bags, plastic bottles and old cloths which they modified.

On the Thursday we entered the Junior Rounder’s Tournament. We joined with the Brownies and divided the girls up into 4 more equal teams. However despite having four Guiding teams we managed to come second.

Histon Guides would like to thank all the members of the Histon Feast Committie for working so hard to give us all such an enjoyable week.

Our Reading Tent
2nd Histon Brownies have been changing the world again. They set up a Reading Tent at the HistonFeast Market. There was a cosy reading corner, with rugs and cushions and story reading, there were drinks and refreshments and a second hand book stall. The girls displayed posters about Mobile Camel Libraries in Africa, and life for a rural Ugandan child. It was a really busy morning with lots of people visiting the tent. We told them all about Book Aid International and raised enough money to send nearly 40 books to Africa.
