Guides join Scouts for wide game

By heather has blogged 8

In the summer holidays the Scouts invited the Guides to join them. On Monday 10th August I went along and we did a wide game around Histon. This involved searching for an injured pilot (a scout leader) who had fallen from a plane (not really)!!  When we found him, it was quite hard reading with a map, but when we heard him whistling we knew where he was. Then we had to do some first aid as he had broken his leg (fake as well.)  The loud screams put us off a bit but in the end we succeed in moving him into Greggs “ambulance”.
I enjoyed it a lot and now am going to join Scouts as well as Guides because I had so much fun! At Guides I would like to do something like it but maybe a little different.

  1. Hey Bethan,

It’s really great that you enjoyed the evening. There’s a place just opened up for you in our upcoming competition hike in the Peak District if you want it. Same kind of deal… a little bit of map reading and walking as a team, with problems to solve and incidents to deal with. (We send an adult on this one though, in case the weather turns or you get lost!)

    See you Monday :-)
    Greg
